Meet Our Newest Partners

Taylor McCaffrey is pleased to announce the addition of 6 new partners effective January 1, 2023: Peter Mueller, Solange Buissé, Alex Nordal-Budinsky, Charles Roy, Katherine Bayer and Timothy J. Lach.

Peter Mueller is passionate about his work in the labour & employment law field. He is regularly sought after by employers and human resource professionals for his litigation expertise as well as his counsel on day-to-day human resource matters. Peter’s advocacy experience includes acting as the lead negotiator for management in collective bargaining, defending wrongful dismissal lawsuits, and advising clients operating in both non-unionized and unionized workplaces dealing with grievances and arbitrations under collective agreements.

Solange Buissé practices Estate Planning and Estate Administration law at Taylor McCaffrey and is well respected for her years of experience in this area. She specializes in services such as wills development, complex estates planning (including high-net worth, blended families, beneficiaries for special needs, etc.), applications for probate, court applications relating to estates, incapacity planning, and trusts.

Alex Nordal-Budinsky has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since his call to the bar in 2015. He has a keen understanding of the financial and emotional toll that separation, divorce, and child custody negotiations can have on everyone involved. He skillfully and respectfully guides his clients through all matters of family law, including prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, divorce, child custody, property, support, and domestic contracts. His goal is to always seek a mutually beneficial outcome for all parties whenever and wherever possible.

Charles Roy is a skilled litigator who has worked at Taylor McCaffrey since his summer internship in 2013. He practices in the areas of labour and employment, personal injury and medical malpractice, commercial litigation and bankruptcy and insolvency. Charles specializes in the area of shareholder disputes and is part of Taylor McCaffrey’s Financial Services group which assists clients with various insolvency and debtor-creditor issues, including restructuring, bankruptcy, receiverships, forbearance agreements and priority disputes.

Katherine Bayer practices extensively in the area of corporate and commercial law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. She routinely advises clients in respect of a wide spectrum of matters including negotiating purchase and sale agreements involving shares or assets, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, corporate restructuring and corporate governance.

While Timothy J. Lach has practiced in the area of labour & employment with Taylor McCaffrey since 2018, his clients benefit from his wide range of skills previously developed while working at another law firm and as in-house counsel for a public sector organization. Timothy has a proven track record with over 25 years of experience and is known as a successful and accomplished litigation counsel. He practices in the general areas of civil litigation and administrative law with an emphasis on employment, labour and disability law. He has appeared before all levels of Court in Manitoba and the Federal Court of Canada along with numerous administrative tribunals, commissions and boards. Timothy leverages his wealth of skill and experience to provide the best possible outcome to his clients.
