For clients who have matters scheduled at the Manitoba Courts or the Manitoba Labour Board, please note that both have closed to the public at this time, and many hearings and matters have been adjourned and cancelled. Both the Courts and the Board have also put in place for alternative measures to hold a number of matters in a conference call format, rather than in-person appearances. Despite these closures, note that all limitation periods currently still apply. It is still possible to file necessary documents, though processing delays are to be expected due to reductions in staff in an effort to ensure social distancing measures.
Following are links to the Manitoba Courts and Manitoba Labour Board websites, which provide the most up-to-date notices as to hearing cancellations and procedural changes. If you have questions about how these closures and changes will affect your particular matter, please contact the lawyer responsible for your file directly.
