MAiD in Canada: Are we going too far, too fast?

Presented by The Centre for Professional and Applied Ethics (CPAE) at the University of Manitoba

Date: Friday, February 10, 2023
Time: 12:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Location: 307 Tier Building, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, MB R3T 2N2

Panel:

  • Dr. Kim Wiebe, Medical Director of the Manitoba Medical Assistance in Dying Team

Canadian eligibility criteria for medical assistance in dying will soon expand to include patients whose sole underlying medical condition is a severe and incurable mental disease. Other proposals for eligibility expansion are also being debated: e.g. MAiD via Advance Directive and MAiD for Mature Minors.
