Ryan is a partner at Taylor McCaffrey LLP and practices exclusively in the area of Labour & Employment law. While he prides himself on being well versed and experienced in all aspects of Labour & Employment, he also has significant expertise in the areas of First Nations Law, Sports Law, and Human Rights.

Ryan is a passionate person, who throws 100% of himself into his practice and serving his clients. Along with his passion, his clients also benefit from his wide range of skills and knowledge in Labour & Employment Law, some of which has been gained through his role in the Employment Law Alliance (ELA). ELA is the world’s largest network of labour and employment lawyers, covering more than 100 countries, including every Canadian province and every state in the United States.  Ryan is part of Taylor McCaffrey’s senior team that represents Manitoba within the ELA. This means Ryan has experience representing clients at the provincial, national and international level.  He is also a past director of CPHR-Manitoba, the exclusive certifying body in the province for the nationally recognized Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.

It is hard to talk about Ryan without sharing the multitude of skills he acquired from decades of involvement in the sports industry.  Ryan was a member of the Canadian National Elite Boxing Team for eight+ years followed later as a high-performance coach, and President of Boxing Canada.  During this time, he learnt about composure (even during adversity), fairness, treating people with respect, and accountability.  These skills formed the foundation of his values that he has carried forward into his legal practice. Given all this, it is easy to understand why Ryan is renowned for his ability to be fair and practical when developing solid strategies that get to the heart of a legal conflict, while considering the best interests of his clients.   Ryan is a skillful advocate and does everything possible to understand and deliver to his clients’ needs.
