Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a full-time Paralegal to join the firm’s Real Estate Paralegal team. This team collaborates closely with each other to support lawyers across the firm on real estate transactions, including sale, purchase and financing.
In this role, you will play a key part in managing residential conveyancing transactions from start to finish, including conducting searches, preparing closing documents and trust letters, coordinating with opposing counsel, and attending to transaction closings. Files may include the sale, purchase or refinancing of residential properties, condominiums, and leased land transactions.
While each file is overseen by a responsible lawyer who is available for guidance, this role offers a high level of autonomy and is the successful candidate will take ownership of their work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transaction Documentation Preparation: Prepare all required documentation to complete real estate transactions, including trust letters, land titles, and financing documents.
- Mortgage Advances and Payouts: Request and process mortgage advances, stage payments, and payouts, including mortgages, outstanding taxes, water accounts, commissions, balances due (with interest), and net proceeds.
- Searches and Due Diligence: Conduct real estate searches (tax and title), corporate searches, and Personal Property Registry searches.
- Electronic Document Ordering: Order required documents through Teranet and other online platforms.
- Mortgage Registration and Reporting: Prepare, register, and report on mortgages, including the use of Teranet smart forms.
- Closing Registrations: Prepare transfers, caveats, and mortgages for closings.
- Client and Lender Reporting: Produce and finalize reporting letters for clients and lenders.
- Billing and Invoicing: Prepare and issue client invoices in accordance with firm procedures.
- Financial Calculations: Perform interest calculations and prepare statements of adjustments and client budgets.
- Professional Correspondence: Correspond with clients, lenders, condominium managers, law firms, and other relevant parties.
- General Support: Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned to support the practice.
Competencies:
- Ability to build effective working relationships with internal team members, lawyers and clients
- Strong capacity to work independently while also contributing collaboratively within a team
- Proven ability to manage a demanding workload and adapt to shifting priorities
- Exceptional attention to detail, including strong proofreading abilities
- Skilled at multitasking in a fast‑paced environment and completing projects efficiently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to communicate professionally and tactfully with colleagues and clients
- Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with ALF and LEAP is considered an asset
Other:
- Significant experience as a legal assistant in the real estate area and/or 3 years’ experience as a paralegal
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with LDD Connect or similar platforms
- Post-secondary education in Legal Administration or a comparable program
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of document management, accounting and real estate software
Schedule:
- 35 hour work week, 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday

Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a full-time Corporate and Estate Planning Legal Assistant for our team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with two partners whose practices focus primarily on corporate law, with additional work in estate planning. If you enjoy being a trusted support professional in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, this position may be a great fit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Client and file management, including client intake, conflict searches, and opening and closing files.
- Drafting professional correspondence and communications for clients.
- Monitoring, prioritizing, and responding to client calls and emails.
- Organizing and maintaining electronic files and documents within the firm’s document management system.
- Conducting online corporate searches and gathering required information.
- Coordinating and scheduling meetings, including arranging necessary bookings and logistics.
- Preparing draft invoices, making revisions, corresponding with clients, and assisting with outstanding accounts.
- Drafting basic corporate documents under lawyer direction.
- Preparing simple Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives
- Providing general administrative support and assisting with additional office duties as needed.
