Taylor McCaffrey LLP’s Lawyers to Present and Moderate at the MBA 2019 Mid-Winter Conference

The MBA 2019 Mid-Winter Conference is the Manitoba Bar Association’s premier event of the year. This year’s event will take place on January 24th and 25th at the Fairmont and Taylor McCaffrey LLP’s Lawyers will be actively participating as speakers and moderators.
Lawrence I. Pinsky will participate as one of the speakers at the Family Law – A year in review, this session will review the pivotal cases federally and provincially in family law. Lawrence will be also a moderator at the Family Law – Mediation and Arbitration, the session will explore a multilayered approach to the delivery of family justice in Manitoba mediation/ arbitration which is expected to play a vital role going forward for Manitobans.
Robynne Kazina is an elected member of the Family Law Executive of the Manitoba Bar Association and involved in planning educational programs with the Law Society of Manitoba will serve as a moderator at The Children’s Voice in Family Proceedings – In this session experts will share their thoughts on various methods to have children’s views heard both in family proceedings involving separation and divorce, child protection and private guardianship matters.
The #MeToo movement has caused a seismic shift in workplaces across Canada. Cynthia Lazar is one of the speakers who will be discussing how lawyers both as employers and as a professional providing advice can respond more effectively to this shift.
Charlotte McCurdy and Solange Buisse will be participating at the Billing Practice in Estates – This session will provide a detailed overview of your obligations as the lawyer for the personal representative of an estate, and will include tips from the Master’s office, advice on ethical billing practices and how to have your fees approved by the Court.
Fred Klein who practises primarily in the area of real estate, including land development and subdivisions, new housing, residential condominium projects and residential home relocation services will be a speaker at the What To Do About Disasters Occurring Between a Real Estate Closing and Possession – The session will provide discussions regarding legally – repudiate a closing when a client discovers that material damage/material harm has occurred to the property that was unknown by the vendor and the vendor’s lawyer.
