Taylor McCaffrey lawyers participating in 2018 MBA Mid-Winter Conference
By Taylor McCaffrey LLP on 2018/01/10
Taylor McCaffrey is pleased to announce that two of our lawyers were selected to speak at the 2018 Manitoba Bar Association (MBA) Mid-Winter Conference, and one of our lawyers was chosen to moderate a panel of experts.
Over the course of Jan. 18 and 19, there will be several panels, speeches, and exhibitors to take in on a variety of timely topics. In addition to attending the conference, we are proud to have one of our associates, Katherine Bayer, sitting on the board for this event.
This conference is a great opportunity for Manitoba lawyers to hear from the best in the industry, get together with colleagues and participate in a professional development opportunity that is made for those who are practicing in Manitoba.
On Jan. 18, Sam Gabor will be moderating the second session in the morning about Directors’ Liability, and guiding a discussion on situations in which personal liability can be imposed on the director of a corporation for debts and actions, or inactions, of the corporation.
In the afternoon on the same day, another one of our lawyers, Charlotte McCurdy, will be sitting on a 30-minute panel about the ethical and legal considerations when seeking disclosure of a testamentary file.
Lawrence Pinsky is speaking on Friday, Jan. 19 at the first session of the day on the topic of family law. He will be one of two speakers reviewing 2017’s biggest federal and provincial family law cases.
Full attendance at the 2018 Mid-Winter Conference can be applied to the Law Society of Manitoba’s 12-hour yearly continuing professional development requirement (including two hours of ethics).
Tickets to the Mid-Winter Conference on Jan. 18 and 19 at the Fairmont Winnipeg are still available here.
