Ataf is passionate when it comes to helping his clients with a corporate/commercial matter.  As an associate with Taylor McCaffrey LLP and a member of the firm’s corporate/commercial law group, Ataf’s practice is focused on business matters including negotiating, interpreting and drafting unanimous shareholder agreements, shareholder disputes, purchase and sale of all types of businesses, and more.

Ataf comes with a host of experience from his time spent practicing law in New York City.  Ataf most recently worked on the multi-billion dollar securities litigation involving JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s Chief Investment Office.  During that time, he experienced and developed a breadth of knowledge in securities and banking litigation matters and this experience has made him adept at identifying issues that could potentially arise in corporate matters.  During his time in the United States, Ataf also worked for the Attorney General of the State of New York under the Andrew Cuomo administration.  While at the Attorney General’s office, Ataf was focused primarily on fraudulent entities and money-laundering transactions.  Prior to his legal experiences, Ataf was awarded a prestigious United Nations Internship at the Main Offices in New York.  During this time, Ataf worked as a representative of the Pax Romana Non-Governmental Organization where he attended meetings, drafted proposals, researched numerous international laws and policies, and met with delegates and ambassadors from around the world.

Involved in the community, Ataf is a Director of Motionball for Special Olympics, and has been involved with a number of other not-for-profit and charitable organizations including the Special Olympics Manitoba.  He also volunteers in the community by coaching junior varsity basketball at St. Paul’s High School.
