Give your car a day off from June 2-8 for the 2019 Commuter Challenge
By Taylor McCaffrey LLP on 2019/05/27
The commuter challenge is an annual friendly competition that encourages individuals and workplaces to explore greener transportation.
Rideshare with a co-worker, hop on a city bus, take your bike, walk, run or telecommute and participate in the national 2019 Green Action Centre Commuter Challenge from June 2-8! Commuting by car is the largest single source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Manitoba, and together we can reduce the impact our daily commute has on our air quality.
What is the Commuter Challenge?
- A week-long event during National Environment Week
- A friendly competition between Canadian cities and workplaces
- A celebration of active and sustainable transportation
- An easy way to try different modes on how to get to work
Register as an individual, employee or workplace and log your kilometers for an opportunity to win a variety of commuter challenge themed prizes.
Participants make a commitment to:
- Make at least one trip to work not driving alone
- Take public transit
- Carpool / Rideshare
In addition to participating as a workplace, Taylor McCaffrey LLP is once again a proud bronze sponsor of the event. Every year we join over 17,000 Canadians who have committed to using greener commuting options this week.
Manitoba has won for highest participation 14 out of the past 16 years of the Commuter Challenge. Take a look at Green Action Centre’s 2018 results info-graphic here for an overview of the impact Manitobans made during the challenge.
