Allison is an Associate with Taylor McCaffrey practicing in Labour and Employment law. While she practices in all areas of Labour and Employment, she has a specific interest in human rights, workplace investigations, policy assessment and drafting, collective bargaining, and employee discipline and termination. Allison has experience in mediation and arbitration, as well as in litigation. Allison has the designation of AWI-CH (Association of Workplace Investigators Certification Holder) and brings a trauma-informed lens to conducting workplace investigations.
Allison has dedicated a significant amount of her time, personally, academically and within her practice, as an advocate and resource builder. She has worked extensively in the areas of anti-sexual violence, gender equality, human rights issues, and accessibility. Her work prior to law school provided her with valuable experience in drafting and revising policies and procedures, advancing human rights and equality issues, and advocating for clients,
Allison’s clients benefit from her broad skillset, including collaboration, critical thinking, strategy development, and negotiations. She focuses on creating a safe environment for her clients to share difficult personal experiences, with the goal of building long lasting relationships. Allison’s clients also benefit from the firm’s membership in the Employment Law Alliance (ELA), the world’s largest network of labour and employment lawyers, covering more than 100 countries, including every Canadian province and every state in the United States.
Allison continues to give back to the community. She is currently involved in the Executive Committee of LEAF Winnipeg, a branch of LEAF National, a federal advocacy organization that advances gender equality in the law through case intervention, law reform and public education. She also consults on the Federal Government’s implementation of the National Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence, and is an active member of Taylor McCaffrey’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
